Citadel Mail

I have been thinking about Windows Live Essentials for a while now. As a Windows user, I used to find this suite of software plus service really compelling, and during it’s existence I used it all the time. I found it a really compelling add on to Windows, although there were probably better alternatives.

So, in that spirit I stated experimenting with the idea of building a samiliar suite for Windows, but modern. Windows native. Making it feel like a natural part of Windows just like the Mac apps. Yes, I suffer from Mac envy.

I created a bunch of mock ups, mostly for fun. I find the design a bit over the top and borderline bloated, so I will probably redo them at some point.

The idea is that we give so much power to online services and we need to take back our own data, hence the desktop application. This way, a user can have a great experience without using a mail service that snoops in yur data and sell your information.

The plan is to do other apps like calendar, contacts and to-do.
